Susan Thiel

Susan brings over 30 years of experience in maternal and child nursing and holds a Master’s in Nursing Education. With a deep passion for women and children, she has spent over eight years teaching nursing while feeling a strong call to serve in less privileged areas. Answering God’s call, Susan has traveled to Kenya ten times to work with Mercy’s Light Family, where she plays a vital role in educating the local clinic staff, teen moms, and MLF team. Susan also collaborates with physicians, pastors, and nurses to address healthcare needs both at the center and in surrounding villages.

Her newest endeavor is leading the new Mercy’s Light Medical Program, which will provide comprehensive prenatal care, baby care, and postpartum support for women and their babies in the village of Vipingo.

Beyond nursing, Susan has a heart for the young mothers at MLF, offering them love, support, and the encouragement of God’s word to strengthen their faith and courage.
